Members of the Wilton Police Department received a report from the Norwalk Police Department at approximately 8 p.m. on July 26, where there was a report of the erratic motorist. Officers in Norwalk advised investigators in Wilton that the car was last spotted traveling north on Danbury Road into town.
Officers eventually stopped the driver, Weston resident Lisa Ferrer, 39, on Dudley Road. She told police that she was coming from the Darien train station and had only two drinks. She went on to fail multiple Standardized Field Sobriety tests and she recorded a blood alcohol content of .375 percent, nearly five times the legal limit.
Ferrer was arrested and charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and drinking while driving. She is due to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 6 to answer the charges.
